Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar brought a regal touch to the Hyundai FDCI India Couture Week 2025 as he turned showstopper for iconic designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock.
The grand showcase, held at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi, redefined luxury and heritage with its royal-inspired couture collection. Looking every bit the desi prince, Akshay walked the ramp in an ivory achkan-style sherwani—fully adorned with intricate silk thread embroidery, refined gold button detailing, sharp tailoring, and padded shoulders. A subtle shimmer gave the ensemble a regal edge, while his black sunglasses added a dash of modern flair.
Speaking after the show, Akshay recalled his last ramp walk for Falguni Shane Peacock over a decade ago. “I remember, about 12 years ago, I had walked the ramp and it was with them. It’s been an honour doing that again,” he shared.
The actor also praised the effort behind the scenes of fashion presentations. “I’ve seen how much hard work goes into putting together a fashion show, and then it all ends in just 25 minutes. But the way Shane and Falguni present themselves in such an international way, I think they’ve made India very proud,” he added.
When asked how he felt in the designer ensemble, Akshay simply smiled and said, “I feel very royal.”
Set against a majestic backdrop of classical pillars and lush foliage, the showcase drew inspiration from architectural marvels like Laxmi Vilas Palace and Jaipur’s City Palace. The collection celebrated Indian opulence with intricate palace carvings, rich veils, ornate drapes, and couture silhouettes that embodied both men’s and women’s fashion.
With Akshay Kumar’s royal presence and Falguni Shane Peacock’s global couture brilliance, the night was a perfect celebration of Indian fashion on the world stage.
