Stars Align at Paris Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton’s Soft Femininity Meets Stella McCartney’s Call for Peace

Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026 is in full swing, and Tuesday night brought two standout moments: Louis Vuitton’s dreamy return to the Louvre and Stella McCartney’s heartfelt message of peace—both in front of a star-studded audience.

Louis Vuitton: Serenity in Soft Pastels

French designer Nicolas Ghesquière unveiled Louis Vuitton’s womenswear collection in the historic former apartments of Queen Anne of Austria at the Louvre. With Cate Blanchett’s narration over a jazz soundtrack, the collection leaned into flouncy skirts, sculptural ruffles, and airy pastels, creating an atmosphere Ghesquière described as “the serenity one feels in the comfort of home.”

Hollywood’s finest, including Emma Stone and Zendaya, were in attendance to witness the French house’s soft, feminine silhouettes glide through history-steeped halls.

Stella McCartney: Fashion with a Message

Meanwhile, Stella McCartney turned the Centre Pompidou into a stage for fashion activism. The show opened with Dame Helen Mirren’s dramatic reading of The Beatles’ “Come Together”—a song written by McCartney’s father, Paul, which played during the finale. “I believe in peace. I’m a peace lover,” Stella said backstage, explaining the deliberate choice amid global conflict.

But the designer, long a pioneer of cruelty-free and sustainable fashion, also marked a milestone: introducing Fevvers, the world’s first plant-based feather alternative. The innovation allowed McCartney to close her show with three breathtaking feather-like couture gowns—without harming animals. “Brands who continue to use feathers are choosing cruelty over creativity,” she stated firmly.

    Other Highlights

Elsewhere in Paris, Julian Klausner presented a sophisticated Dries Van Noten collection in bold colours, while Courrèges’ Nicolas Di Felice revived the house’s signature 1960s mini-skirt with sharp geometric twists.

The week ahead promises more drama, as Jonathan Anderson prepares to debut his first womenswear collection at Dior, marking one of the most highly anticipated moments of the season.
