




India’s luxury retail landscape is about to get a new landmark. Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail (ABFRL) has announced that it will open a Galeries Lafayette department store in Delhi, in collaboration with the French luxury retailer.
This move signals ABFRL’s bet on India’s evolving appetite for luxury and its ambition to anchor global fashion names in the country.
The Deal: ABFRL + Galeries Lafayette
Galeries Lafayette, the famed Parisian department store, will enter the Indian market through its partnership with ABFRL. The store in Delhi will carry over 250 luxury and designer brands from around the world. red Perry, this is a continuation of its premium retail push.
R. Satyajit, CEO – International Brands at ABFRL, said that they intend to open “large-format” physical stores in multiple key Indian cities over the next three years. Their target is to be present in at least four of the top six Indian cities.
