IFI Correspondent/Suresh Moharana Report: The Commissionerate Police have officially concluded their preparatory meeting for the upcoming Ganesh Puja, one of the most celebrated and culturally significant festivals in the region. With thousands expected to participate in the festivities, authorities are taking no chances when it comes to security, crowd management, and public safety.
This year, the vibrant tradition of hosting a DJ performance in Bhasani will continue, drawing large crowds and adding to the festive atmosphere. However, the police have emphasized that all cultural programs must strictly conclude by 10 PM, in line with public order regulations and noise control mandates.
To ensure smooth execution of the event, the Commissionerate has announced the deployment of more than 10 platoons of police across key locations. These units will be responsible for traffic control, crowd regulation, and emergency response. The presence of such a large force underscores the importance of maintaining peace and discipline during the multi-day celebration.
In a move to enhance surveillance and deter any untoward incidents, the police have made CCTV installation mandatory at all puja mandaps. Organizers have been instructed to ensure that cameras are functional and cover all entry and exit points, as well as the main worship area. This step is expected to aid in real-time monitoring and post-event review if necessary.
