Honest Thoughts On Janhvi Kapoor & Sara Ali Khan’s Dusty Pink Lehengas & Their Ramp Walk
India Couture Week 2025 has unfolded with grandeur and experimentation — off-site showcases, theatrical reveals, and after-parties instead of conventional shows. But if there’s one thread binding it all, it’s the overwhelming love for pastels. Designers seem to have temporarily shelved the traditional reds, and instead, muted pinks, rose golds, and champagne hues have taken center stage.
Among the highlights were two much-talked-about showstoppers: Sara Ali Khan for Aisha Rao and Janhvi Kapoor for Jayanti Reddy — both in dusty pink lehengas. But while the outfits delivered on design, the ramp moments sparked contrasting reactions.

Aisha Rao’s Kohler X Aisha Rao collection celebrated storytelling through romance and poetry. It was maximalist yet whimsical, rooted in nature with rose golds, berry tones, and florals. Sara’s showstopper look was unconventional — a lehenga worn sans dupatta, designed to highlight a modern bride’s ease and movement.
Visually, Sara looked radiant, but her ramp walk became the talking point online. Critics felt her walk lacked conviction, with some calling it “awkward” or “disconnected” from the grandeur of the outfit. The lehenga deserved fierceness, but Sara’s body language kept the look from soaring to its full potential.
Janhvi Kapoor for Jayanti Reddy
In contrast, Janhvi Kapoor brought drama to Jayanti Reddy’s ethereal couture. Her dusty pink lehenga leaned on old-world charm with intricate embroidery and regal styling. Janhvi’s walk was slower, deliberate, and filled with the poise of a seasoned showstopper.
She leaned into her persona as a style star, letting the ensemble do the talking while she added just enough grace to keep the audience glued. If Sara’s walk was a whisper, Janhvi’s was a carefully measured statement.
