The upcoming Milan Fashion Week will carry a profound emotional weight, as the Armani Group confirmed that its scheduled shows will go ahead despite the recent passing of legendary designer Giorgio Armani.
Both Emporio Armani and Giorgio Armani will unveil their Spring/Summer 2026 collections, marking the last garments designed by the maestro himself. These presentations will not only showcase Armani’s final creative vision but also serve as a tribute to his remarkable five-decade career that shaped modern fashion.
In addition to the runway shows, the long-awaited exhibition at the Pinacoteca di Brera museum will open on September 24, highlighting the house’s enduring legacy. This exhibition, planned to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Armani label, was personally overseen by Giorgio Armani until his final days.
In a statement, the Armani Group said:
“The scheduled shows and the opening of the exhibition, on which Armani worked until the very end, reflect the company’s desire to continue a legacy of commitment, respect and passion for work. These are values that have always distinguished Mr Armani and that he has instilled in all his employees over the years.”
Last weekend, Italy bid farewell to one of its greatest cultural icons. At the Armani Group headquarters in Milan—where he presented countless collections—over 6,000 mourners gathered to pay respects, with lines stretching across the street. The 91-year-old designer was later laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by family, friends, and close colleagues in Rivalta, near his birthplace of Piacenza.
As Milan prepares to honor his life’s work, Giorgio Armani’s influence will continue to resonate—not only in the collections he left behind but in the timeless philosophy of elegance, discipline, and modernity that defined his career.
