Filmmaker, producer, and style icon Karan Johar brought unmatched elegance to the 71st National Awards in September 2025. Styled by longtime collaborator Eka Lakhani, Johar wore two custom looks from Manish Malhotra’s Inaya collection. Each ensemble reflected his love for Indian couture while highlighting Malhotra’s intricate craftsmanship.
Look 1: Ivory Sherwani Elegance
Johar first stepped out in a classic ivory sherwani from the Inaya line. The garment featured tonal embroidery on the cuffs and a ruched collar, details that elevated its timeless appeal. To complement the outfit, Lakhani styled it with a statement brooch from Manish Malhotra Jewellery, adding just the right amount of sparkle. For his second look, Johar opted for a black velvet bandhgala, also part of the Inaya collection. The piece carried asymmetrical gold buttons paired with subtle tonal embroidery, creating a balance of modern refinement and traditional grandeur. With its luxurious fabric and sharp tailoring, the bandhgala underlined Johar’s flair for experimenting with classic silhouettes while keeping them contemporary.
