Chennai-based designer Akshita Rattha has officially debuted her eponymous fine jewellery label, bringing a deeply personal and emotional vision to modern luxury. For Akshita, jewellery has never been merely ornamental—it carries stories, memories, and quiet strength.
“The spark came quite unexpectedly—during my brother’s wedding,” Akshita shares. “I was co-designing some pieces and became completely drawn into the alchemy of gemstones and the emotions they carry.” This passion led her to the Gemological Institute of America during the pandemic, transforming a personal interest into a calling.
Her debut collections, Auraya and Marelle, embody distinct yet complementary moods. Auraya meditates on new beginnings and inner alignment, drawing inspiration from sacred geometry and ancient architecture. Crafted in 18kt gold with diamonds, rubies, and tanzanites, the collection exudes quiet power. “There’s a piece in Auraya close to my heart,” she notes, “symbolising finding your center even amidst life’s chaos.”
Marelle, inspired by the ocean, celebrates healing, interconnectedness, and feminine grace. Coral motifs mirror the resilience of sea life, reflecting strength, softness, and balance. “It’s about the spaces in between,” Akshita explains, “where strength meets gentleness.”
