From ruby-laden necklaces to Charminar-inspired accessories, Raabta by Rahul’s latest collection is a dazzling ode to royal artistry with a modern edge.

Designer Rahul Luthra has always been known for his flair for craftsmanship and storytelling through jewellery. With his label Raabta by Rahul, the designer brings together the poetry of heritage and the precision of modern artistry. His latest collection, “Saltanat: Regalia of the Royals,” is no exception — a spectacular homage to the timeless grandeur of Deccan India, reimagined through contemporary design and meticulous handcraft.

A Modern Reimagining of Royal Heritage

Saltanat reimagines Deccan India’s grandeur through modern craftsmanship,” says Rahul. “It features an exquisite range of handcrafted jewels — from statement lada necklaces and kaleeras to regal kalgis and versatile brooches.”

The collection is a celebration of opulence and detail — rich rubies, emeralds, sapphires, and pearls find their place in intricate settings of gold-plated silver, often complemented with meenakari and enamel work reminiscent of the royal ateliers of the Deccan courts. Each piece bears Raabta’s bespoke crown logo, symbolising authenticity, artistry, and pride.

From Charminar to the Crown — The Deccan Dream

What makes Saltanat truly distinctive is its fusion of jewellery and men’s accessories. Rahul has expanded his creative vocabulary to include watches inspired by antique pocket watches, heritage shoes, and sherwani buttons cast from Charminar-inspired coins. This rare cross-category design approach reflects the designer’s belief that luxury is a lived experience — one that transcends gender and category.

    Inspired by the Deccan’s Soul

“The collection draws its soul from Deccan India — a land of forts, palaces, poetry, and powerful dynasties,” Rahul shares. “We were inspired by its quiet majesty, from the arches of the Charminar to the intricate strokes of forgotten miniature art. The Sultanate era celebrated art, architecture, and culture in perfect balance — and that’s what Saltanat seeks to capture.”

Animal motifs, too, play a key role in the narrative. Lions, horses, and elephants — enduring emblems of strength, wisdom, and royalty — appear across the collection as sculpted details and engraved patterns, evoking a sense of timeless power and cultural pride.

    Regalia Reborn

With Saltanat, Rahul Luthra doesn’t just design jewellery; he revives a forgotten chapter of Indian artistry. It’s a collection where heritage meets modernity, and where every piece becomes a keepsake of history — crafted for today, inspired by centuries past.
