Mumbai, India – Celebrated fashion designer Kresha Bajaj, known for her intricate storytelling through garments, has launched her latest couture line, Aurelia. The collection draws inspiration from the stillness and romance of the past, blending the delicate nostalgia of Regency-era fashion with a distinctly modern sensibility.
Speaking exclusively about Aurelia, Kresha described it as “romantic yet restrained, delicate yet defined—created for the woman who exists between the past and present.” Influenced by literary characters like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations, the collection channels layered tulle, softly deconstructed corsetry, and heirloom-like beadwork. “It’s not about recreating the period, but creating something that feels like it could have been part of it,” she said.
While Regency-inspired fashion has gained mainstream attention through shows like Bridgerton, Kresha’s Aurelia takes a subtler approach. “It haunts the classics rather than tweaking them,” she explained, highlighting the imperfection, restraint, and emotional storytelling that make each piece unique.
Beyond the new collection, Kresha also opened up about one of her most personal projects—redesigning Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s wedding outfit following the actress’s divorce from Naga Chaitanya. “That piece was more than a garment—it was a memory stitched into something new,” she said. “Samantha wanted to reclaim something deeply personal, and I felt honored to be part of that process. It wasn’t about erasing the past but acknowledging it with grace and transforming it into something unique.”
With Aurelia, Kresha once again cements her place as one of India’s most emotionally expressive designers—blending heritage, memory, and modernity into couture that feels like wearable poetry.
