When couture meets coffee, magic brews.
To mark the milestone of opening its 100th store in Mumbai, Starbucks India has joined hands with celebrated designer Anamika Khanna, bringing together the seemingly distant worlds of high fashion and everyday coffee culture.
Known for her vibrant use of paisleys, intricate embroidery, and layered design sensibilities, Khanna has reimagined Mumbai’s restless, electric spirit through 16 limited-edition denim totes. Each bag narrates a hyper-local story — from graffiti-splashed streets in Bandra, the buzzing mayhem of Andheri, to the evocative charm of the Mumbai skyline.
Unlike couture’s grandeur, these totes are made practical, approachable, and timeless, featuring sturdy handles, functional fasteners, and prints that mirror the city’s visual chaos. They aren’t just accessories — they’re wearable keepsakes of Mumbai’s cultural heartbeat.
For Khanna, this collaboration was deeply personal:
“The most interesting thing about working on a collaboration like this is that it challenges you to the core. I get to step out of my comfort zone—beyond the conventional fashion space, venturing into something completely different. For me, everything is an emotional journey and if I can’t resonate with something, I just won’t do it.”
The Anamika Khanna + Starbucks collection channels the joyous energy of Mumbai — vibrant, layered, and endlessly alive. Whether inspired by Khanna’s favorite almond milk cappuccino or the brand’s growing omnipresence, this partnership feels like a natural celebration of both worlds.
With this launch, Starbucks India not only celebrates a milestone but also gives Mumbai a set of slice-of-life collectables — couture-inspired yet everyday-friendly, meant to be carried, cherished, and lived in.
