Jaipur – Jewellery often tells a story, but Jaipur-based brand Parishri has taken that idea to a whole new level with its latest edit, Tijori. Designed by the duo Paridhi Patodia and Shrishti Agarwal, the collection is inspired by the traditional Indian treasure chest—reimagined as wearable, customisable jewellery.
Founded in 2020 after both designers lost their jobs during the pandemic, Parishri has grown from taking custom orders for friends and family to launching collections that merge nostalgia with modern-day design sensibilities. With Tijori, they’ve created jewellery that doubles up as a personal keepsake box.
What Makes Tijori Unique?
Each piece in the collection—comprising pendants, bracelets, earrings, and lockets—is crafted from 22-carat gold-plated brass with delicate see-through glass compartments. These compartments actually open up, allowing the wearer to fill them with semi-precious gemstones, alphabets, numbers, horoscopes, or even tiny charms.
“Inspired by traditional Indian treasure chests, Tijori is designed as a miniature jewellery box that evolves with the wearer,” shares Shrishti Agarwal, co-founder and creative director. “It’s about carrying your story, your identity, and your memories close to you.”
Interactive & Personal
The charm of Tijori lies in its interactivity. Customers can begin with one or two charms that resonate with them—perhaps an alphabet and a gemstone—and then keep building over time. The collection encourages layering and storytelling, making every locket or bracelet deeply personal and ever-evolving.
Some popular choices include alphabet charms for initials, birthstones for milestones, and horoscope symbols for identity. The result is jewellery that’s not just an accessory, but a part of one’s personal narrative.
Balancing Design & Craft
The biggest challenge, the designers note, was ensuring that the openable glass compartments were functional, durable, yet still lightweight and wearable. The team spent months perfecting the mechanics to make each piece playful while keeping Parishri’s signature delicate aesthetic intact.
More Than a Trend
At its core, Tijori is about meaning and longevity. “While trends come and go, our focus is on jewellery with emotional resonance,” says Agarwal. “Each piece is timeless because it carries your story, not just a season’s mood.”
The Designer’s Pick
So what’s inside Shrishti’s own Tijori locket? “An alphabet charm, a tiny heart gemstone, and a horoscope symbol,” she reveals with a smile. And if she had to pick one charm for everyone? “An alphabet charm—it’s the simplest yet most powerful way to mark your identity or someone you love.”
✨ With Tijori, Parishri has crafted not just jewellery, but a treasure chest of stories, waiting to be filled and worn with pride.
