“What began as a client’s request soon became our collective pursuit to see if we could let the diamond stand entirely on its own — with no support, no metal, and no compromise,” shares Chaitanya V Cotha, Executive Director at C Krishniah Chetty Group of Jewellers.
The result? A feat of engineering, artistry, and imagination — a diamond-born ring that celebrates the union of innovation and elegance.
Crafting Brilliance: Engineering the Impossible
This was not just design — it was microscopic engineering.
The brand’s design team began by studying the diamond not merely as a gemstone but as a precision crystal with structural logic and atomic orientation.
“We used single-crystal CVD-grown diamond, carefully mapped its atomic planes, and ensured no cleavage lines intersected stress points,” reveals the brand. “Every curve was modelled to distribute pressure evenly — beauty and strength had to coexist.”
From Crystal to Couture: The Three-Year Journey
To create the perfect ring, designers began with a large, lab-grown diamond block. Using femtosecond laser cutting — one quadrillionth of a second per pulse — they cored the ring from within without causing heat-induced fractures.
The finishing touch came through diamond-on-diamond hand polishing, giving the piece its flawless brilliance.
Over 70% of the original diamond mass was sacrificed in pursuit of this perfection — a true testament to the devotion behind this creation.
The entire process took nearly three years, involving advanced non-contact metrology, dark-field microscopy, and traditional craftsmanship. It’s a marriage of modern technology and old-world artistry, resulting in an object that feels both futuristic and eternal.
A Ring Without Boundaries — or Metal
Unlike traditional diamond cuts, this all-diamond ring follows a continuous curvature form. Every surface flows seamlessly into the next, allowing light to move uninterrupted across the surface.
“It’s not cut — it’s sculpted,” the brand explains. “Each curve and polish point is intentional, balancing optical harmony with structural integrity.”
One-of-a-Kind Craftsmanship
Each piece of this creation is custom-engineered from scratch, ensuring safety, strength, and exclusivity. Only VVS+ clarity, D–F colour, single-crystal CVD diamonds qualify for the process.
“We can tailor the curvature and proportions for each client, but the diamond itself dictates what’s possible. We work with those limits, not against them,” Cotha notes.
Every ring undergoes rigorous microscopic evaluation and stress testing before leaving the atelier — durable enough for daily wear, yet deserving of reverence like any true masterpiece.
