November 2025 promises a rich tapestry of art exhibitions unfolding across India, reflecting the country’s dynamic and evolving creative landscape. From intimate solo shows to large-scale art fairs, this month captures the renewed energy in India’s contemporary art world — where tradition, innovation, and cross-disciplinary narratives converge.

Immersive and Introspective: Sohrab Hura’s “The Forest”

Kicking off the conversation is Sohrab Hura, whose exhibition The Forest is on view at Experimenter gallery, Ballygunge Place, Kolkata from 5 November through January. Hura combines his signature photographic language with drawing, evoking a dreamlike, almost Instagram-feed effect. His work spans landscapes in Kashmir and bareness of Barwani, offering a poetic yet piercing exploration of solitude, memory, and identity.

Embodying Flux: Natasha Preenja at TARQ, Mumbai

On Mumbai’s art circuit, Natasha Preenja, also known by her artist name Princess Pea, debuts her first solo exhibition titled वज़न (Wazan) at TARQ gallery. Her work, deeply rooted in her lived experience, uses turned-wood toys and sculptural forms as metaphors for body, memory, and agency. The show runs from 6 November to 24 December.

Emotional Theatre: Anju Dodiya’s The Geometry of Ash

Also in Mumbai, Anju Dodiya presents The Geometry of Ash at Chemould Prescott Road, illustrating her inner landscapes with large color-infused fabric panels and works on paper. Her pieces navigate stillness as an act of resistance, offering viewers reflective spaces amid the noise of contemporary life.

Reimagining Landscapes: What the Land Remembers

At Nilaya Anthology, Lower Parel, a thematic show titled What the Land Remembers brings together Helena Bajaj Larsen, Tenzing Dakpa, Gaia Pawar Shapiro, and Jane D’Haene. Through woven textiles, photography, dreamlike paintings, and ceramics, the exhibition meditates on memory, geography, and the resilient interplay between personal and collective histories.

Geometry, Myth & Mysticism: Arvind Sundar’s Chasing Infinity

At Anupa Mehta Contemporary Art, Mumbai, Arvind Sundar returns with Chasing Infinity, a body of work that bridges mathematics, mysticism, and mythology. Sculptures and drawings explore symbolic geometries, inviting viewers to dwell in the tension between the finite and the infinite.

    Psychological Realms: Arindam Chatterjee’s অ ব মা ন ব / a v a m ā n a v a

In Kolkata, Arindam Chatterjee debuts a new series at Emami Art, deeply psychological and introspective. The works — largely on paper — navigate complex human ethics, drawing inspiration from shared histories and the brutality of fact in a way that echoes Francis Bacon’s existential rigor
