Bollywood actress Ananya Panday turned heads with a serene sky-blue saree handwoven using the time-honoured weave technique Banarasi Tanchoi. The saree belongs to the collection of Ekaya Banaras — known for reviving classic Banarasi craftsmanship with contemporary sensibilities.
Unlike sarees that rely on heavy zari or embellishments, this drape emphasises the subtlety and richness of the silk and weave itself, making a strong case for understated luxury rooted in heritage.
Design Details:
The saree draws attention with its intricate, woven-in patterns — hallmark of Tanchoi — giving a textured, almost sculptural feel to the silk drape.
Complementing the saree is a blouse with a design twist: the blouse mirrors the saree’s floral motif border, but adds a collar inspired by a Chinese Qipao — complete with a peek-a-boo neckline and front bow detail. This fusion of East and South Asian sartorial elements gives the outfit a global-meets-Indian edge.
Styling: Elegant, Ethereal and Just Right
Ananya kept the styling elegant and minimal, letting the saree speak: she paired it with oversized gold chaandbalis studded with green stones from Jagdish Jewellers — a traditional nod that contrasts beautifully with the cool blue silk.
