The Serendipity Arts Festival 2025 has returned to Panjim, Goa from 12–21 December, marking a milestone — its tenth annual edition. The festival, one of South Asia’s largest multidisciplinary arts events, is transforming the city into a vibrant cultural landscape with more than 250 projects curated by over 35 leading creative minds.
This edition explores bold dialogues between tradition and innovation, prompting audiences to engage with contemporary art practices while celebrating Goa’s rich culture.
Bebinca:
A highlight of this year’s programme is “Goa is a Bebinca”, a unique culinary arts performance that melds food and storytelling. Curated by Chef Manu Chandra, the immersive experience invites audiences to partake in a feast that reflects the layered stories of Goan identity — from generational traditions to evolving tastes and community connections.
Through gastronomy, Bebinca becomes a narrative vehicle, encouraging visitors to consider how flavour, memory and culture intersect.
Barges and Immersive Installations
Another standout project is the “Barge” installation at the Captain of Ports Jetty in Old Goa, curated by Veeranganakumari Solanki. This site-specific exhibition uses the barge’s unique riverside setting to explore themes of absence, presence, and imagination. Artists invite audiences into a participatory experience where sculpture, sound and spatial dynamics blur conventional boundaries of art and environment.
This installation exemplifies SAF’s penchant for activating unconventional spaces and engaging viewers in sensory discovery.
Multidisciplinary Experiences
The festival spans multiple venues — including Art Park, Azad Maidan, The Old GMC Complex and Kala Academy — bringing together diverse forms such as visual arts, theatre, music, workshops and talks. Events range from free public installations to ticketed performances, ensuring broad accessibility while spotlighting both emerging and established artists.
In addition to on-site programming in Goa, Serendipity Arts Festival has expanded its presence throughout the year with satellite events in cities including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Varanasi, Chennai, Gurugram and international hubs like Dubai and Paris, reflecting the festival’s ambition to connect art communities across geographies.
A Festival With Depth, Diversity and Dialogue
As the festival reaches its tenth anniversary, its programming underscores a commitment to inclusive cultural dialogue, blending disciplines and voices that challenge, entertain and inspire. From culinary storytelling to immersive installations and performances, SAF continues to be a dynamic platform for artistic exchange and creativity
