Success stories rooted in hardship often carry the deepest impact. One such story is that of Mr. Ritesh Sanjay Puse, a young entrepreneur from a humble background who built his own identity through perseverance, honesty, and unwavering determination. Today, he is the proud owner of Jay Bhawani Bhojnalaya and Hotel Jay Bhawani, serving affordable and wholesome meals to students and working-class citizens in the city.
A Childhood Shaped by Struggle
Ritesh Puse comes from a financially weak family in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. His father earned a living by selling vegetables on a handcart, while his mother worked as a domestic helper, earning just a few hundred rupees per household. Supporting a family of six—including three sons and a youngest daughter—was a daily challenge.
Despite hardships, Ritesh completed his education and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. However, financial pressure forced him to work from a young age. During his 10th-grade summer vacation, he began searching for jobs in the city, working in handloom shops, restaurants, cafes, and various other places—often for a monthly salary of just ₹3,000.
Balancing Work, Education, and Survival
Due to difficult family circumstances, Ritesh could not attend college regularly. He took admission but appeared mainly for examinations, spending most of his time working to support his family. While working in restaurants and cafes, he was known for his honesty and dedication, but his situation was often exploited by employers.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, one such incident deeply affected him when a shop owner failed to close the establishment on time, resulting in Ritesh being beaten by police late at night. Even after such incidents, he continued working—until repeated disrespect pushed him to make a life-changing decision.
The Courage to Start Something of His Own
Determined to break free from exploitation, Ritesh decided to start his own food business. With just ₹9,000 in hand, he rented a small shutter-attached space near his residence. His parents were hesitant at first, but with his mother’s support and a kind landlord who did not demand an advance, Ritesh took the leap.
He began modestly—with four tables, eight chairs, limited utensils, and a small prayer marking the beginning of his journey.
Jay Bhawani Bhojnalaya: Built on Taste, Trust, and Honesty
On the very first day, four students ate at the mess—and loved the food. Word spread quickly. More students joined, followed by their friends. Fresh vegetables supplied daily by his father ensured quality and taste, which became the foundation of customer trust.
As demand increased, additional help was hired for preparing rotis, and gradually, the mess began to flourish. A turning point came when Ritesh convinced his father to stop pushing the vegetable cart and join him at the mess—a moment that symbolized progress and dignity.
Affordable Meals, Earned Blessings
Located near Kranti Chowk, Jay Bhawani Bhojnalaya became popular among students, laborers, and office workers, offering full meals at just ₹70. Customers not only praised the food but also blessed Ritesh, often telling him that he would go far in life.
Encouraged by growing support, Ritesh envisioned something bigger.
The Birth of Hotel Jay Bhawani
One day, a customer who enjoyed the food offered Ritesh an opportunity to run a hotel. With the encouragement of his family and strong backing from friends who had always stood by him, Ritesh accepted the challenge.
That decision fulfilled a long-cherished dream. Slowly but steadily, Hotel Jay Bhawani began operating successfully alongside the bhojnalaya.
Family, Friends, and Faith: The Pillars of Success
Ritesh openly credits his parents, friends, and well-wishers for standing by him through every phase. His friends consistently motivated him with one promise: “You start—we are with you.”
A Message of Hope
Once unemployed and uncertain about the future, Ritesh Sanjay Puse today leads a respected food business that supports his family and serves society. His journey proves that honest work, patience, and courage can transform even the harshest realities.
Jay Bhawani Bhojnalaya and Hotel Jay Bhawani are not just food establishments—they are symbols of resilience, dignity, and self-made success.
