Mr. Santosh Ashok Satkar, a resident of Shirur taluka in Pune district, began his life journey under very modest circumstances. His first job was as a daily labourer under a labour contractor—a phase that shaped his understanding of hardship, dignity of labour, and the true value of hard work.
Those early years gave him real-world lessons no classroom could offer. He learned the importance of effort, responsibility, and empathy by living the life of the working class.
From Experience to Confidence
With time, experience grew—and so did confidence. What began as physical labour slowly transformed into a deeper realization: success should not remain personal. Santosh made a firm decision to create opportunities not just for himself, but for others as well.
This vision led him to establish his own organisation, with a clear focus on employment generation, education, and guidance for youth.
The Birth of Disha Foundation 
As he continued working closely with people at the grassroots level, one truth became increasingly clear—society needed structured support, and he felt morally responsible to step forward.
This realization gave birth to Disha Foundation, a social organisation dedicated to empowering individuals through employment, education, financial support, and awareness.
Creating Employment Through ‘Maharojgar’
One of Disha Foundation’s most impactful initiatives is the ‘Maharojgar’ Consultant Project, focused on employment generation.
