The journey of Vijay Ravindra Nikhade is a powerful example of how determination, self-belief, and hard work can transform a dream into reality. Born into a farmer’s family, Vijay’s story reflects the aspirations of countless rural households where education is seen as a path to progress and pride.
Fulfilling a Father’s Dream Through Education
Vijay Ravindra Nikhade pursued engineering to fulfil his father’s dream of seeing an engineer in the family. He completed his Civil Engineering Diploma in 2013 from a Government Polytechnic, followed by his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering in 2016. These formative years laid the technical foundation for his future in the construction industry.
Early Professional Experience and a Turning Point
After completing his education, Vijay began his professional journey as a Site Engineer with a private construction company. While the role provided valuable exposure to on-site execution, he felt a lack of long-term satisfaction and clarity about his future. This inner conflict led him to take a bold decision—to step away from a secure job and build something of his own.
Gaining Ground-Level Experience in Government Projects
Vijay’s next phase began with the Water Resources Department of the Maharashtra Government, where he worked on the Jigav Dam Project. His involvement included critical infrastructure works such as pump house construction, irrigation pipeline execution, manifold blocks, switch yards, and bladder vessel foundations.
This phase proved to be transformative, giving him hands-on experience in large-scale government projects and strengthening his confidence as an independent professional.
Establishing His Own Construction Practice
With experience from both government and private sectors, Vijay decided to expand his vision. He opened his own office in his native village and began offering services in planning, designing, and estimation. Through this initiative, he was able to directly serve local communities and provide cost-effective construction solutions.
Building Affordable Homes and a Trusted Name
Over the years, Vijay has successfully planned and constructed nearly 50 to 60 residential homes, helping families build quality houses at affordable costs. His practical approach, technical clarity, and commitment to transparency have earned him trust and recognition.
Today, Nikhade Construction has completed 7 to 8 years of operations, with successful projects across commercial as well as government sectors—a journey Vijay considers a matter of deep personal pride.
