Actress and content creator Emily Shah, with her Gujarati–American heritage, and actor–producer–writer Mena Massoud, of Egyptian origin who immigrated to Canada at age three, forged a global connection. Though they first met in 2018 in Los Angeles via an entertainment-industry dating app, their busy lives kept them apart until a year later, when they finally began dating
Venue: A Rustic Italian Escape
The intimate estate of Tenuta Di Sticciano in Certaldo, Tuscany, won them over. They loved its vineyard, on-site accommodations, and versatile event spaces—just right for raising a glass to both Sauvignon and saandīs. The festivities included a welcoming Italian garden dinner with brick-oven pizzas, award-winning local wines, and creative tablescapes featuring heirloom tomatoes, garlic with paint-like streaks, red chillies, and fresh florals—all orchestrated by Fede Floral Design.
Welcome Dinner: Old-School Glamour Meets Botanical Charm
Emily dazzled in an all-white Valentino ensemble, inspired by 1960s glamour—the dream look she’d seen on the runway just before getting engaged. Mena complemented her effortlessly in a Valentino jacket, flared tuxedo trousers, Marc Nolan loafers, and the Audemars Piguet watch he proposed with in Japan.
Day Two: Vibrant Hindu Wedding in the Gardens
In a beautiful garden setting with rolling Tuscan hills as the backdrop, Emily and Mena said their Hindu nuptials. She wore a bespoke red sari by Arpita Mehta, paired with a corset blouse and kitten heels by Dolce Vita. Her veil was deeply personal—inscribed with a beautiful quote: “On his peaceful land, my flame found rest,” alongside their horoscope symbols and the sacred “Om.” Her mehendi, artfully done by Suhenna Creations, featured their zodiac signs and constellations
Day Three: A Reverent Coptic Christian Ceremony
To honor Massoud’s faith, the couple held a Coptic Christian ceremony, officiated by his childhood priest from Toronto, Father Pishoy. Mena was impeccably styled in a custom Zegna tuxedo, Christian Louboutin shoes, and an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. Their wedding bands were bespoke creations from Bhindi Jewelers in Los Angeles
Late-Night Revelry: Martini Bar, Midnight Snacks & Cellar Rave
Post-dessert, the celebrations continued with “The Massoud’s Martini Bar” and late-night delights like truffle and margarita pizzas as snacks. Emily, now in a Rosie Etienne mini dress and silver Tieks flats, ended the whirlwind weekend dancing to Arabic music in the estate’s wine-cellar rave cave. Her corset-inspired look came full circle, in both style and sentiment.
