Founded by actor-director Adhyayan Suman, Miss Universe India 2022 Divita Rai, and veteran designer Alka Suman, Duchess Kumari bridges India’s rich textile heritage with contemporary form. The capsule employs heirloom khadi, bandhani silks, brocades, tartan checks, and hand-embellished satins, ensuring each fabric retains its cultural narrative while being reinterpreted for the modern wardrobe.
The 11-piece capsule exemplifies craftsmanship at its finest. Every garment is handcrafted by skilled karigars, featuring intricate zardosi, aari, and hand-thread embroidery. Deconstructed bandhgalas, layered tulle skirts, cropped jackets, and tailored blouses showcase fluid yet structured silhouettes, where imperfection is celebrated as beauty.
Alka Suman emphasizes, “We wanted each piece to feel like a personal artefact — a garment that carries a distinct voice. Storytelling-led design allows silhouettes, embroidery, and textures to echo identity and heritage, creating heirlooms for the modern woman who owns her journey.”
