Christian Louboutin’s ‘La Vie en Inde’ – A Navratna-Inspired Ode to India’s Festive Splendour
Luxury designer Christian Louboutin once again pays homage to his long-standing love affair with India through a new limited-edition India-exclusive capsule collection, La Vie en Inde. Launched just in time for Diwali 2025, the line celebrates the country’s cultural opulence, radiant hues, and exquisite craftsmanship — elements that have deeply inspired Louboutin since his first visit as a teenager.
At the heart of La Vie en Inde lies the Navratna, a sacred ensemble of nine gemstones, each symbolizing a celestial power and believed to bring fortune and balance. In Louboutin’s imaginative world, these stones share an unexpected kinship with the Marvel universe — both dazzling, powerful, and vividly symbolic. “In my eyes, Navratna and Marvel have much in common,” the designer notes, “each gem or hero representing a unique force, vibrant and full of life.”

“India has always held a special place in my heart — a land where colour is lived, not just seen,” Louboutin shared. “From the drape of a sari to the rhythm of its cinema, every detail pulses with grace and joy. For La Vie en Inde, we placed gold at the heart of the story, pairing it with rich textiles and embellishments that mirror the splendour of the Navratna’s nine stones. It’s a tribute to India’s enduring elegance and luminous spirit.”

The capsule includes seven women’s shoes, two men’s shoes, and one statement handbag, all bearing the iconic red sole and a special édition limitée stamp.
Among the highlights is the Lady Bombay, first introduced in 2012, which returns in a dazzling new avatar as Diwadonna, drenched in festive gold and jewel tones. The Paloma Clutch Small is reimagined with intricate bejeweled detailing inspired by the Diwadonna’s aesthetic — a sparkling nod to India’s love for artistry.
👞 Men’s Luxe with a Festive Twist
For men, the Diwalouis sneaker reinterprets Louboutin’s signature Louis Junior silhouette, merging street style with celebratory opulence. The Chambelimoc Night Strass loafer, meanwhile, exudes understated glamour with its exclusive seasonal finish and a removable rhinestone collar pin — a subtle yet striking festive flourish.
