Lakmé Fashion Week 2025 Highlights: Mrunal Thakur, Tabu & Vaani Kapoor Light Up the Runway
The Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI 2025 at The Grand, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi continued to set the style bar sky-high on Day 3. The runway turned into a spectacle of power, poise, and artistry — a perfect blend of Indian heritage and global futurism. From cosmic couture to bridal revival, the night shimmered with unforgettable fashion moments.
🌟 Mrunal Thakur: Golden Goddess for Pankaj & Nidhi
Mrunal Thakur stole the show as the dazzling muse for Pankaj & Nidhi’s “Araquis” collection, which celebrated feminine empowerment through a futuristic lens.
Her sculpted gold bodice paired with a sleek black high-slit skirt embodied a fearless mix of regality and rebellion. The ensemble’s geometric accents and liquid-metal textures reflected the designers’ vision of the modern warrior woman — strong, sensual, and celestial.
“The collection represents light emerging from darkness — much like the woman who rises, shines, and leads,” said the designer duo.
💚 Tabu: A Vision of Bridal Serenity for Itrh
The ever-elegant Tabu brought timeless allure to the runway for Itrh’s “Noor” collection, a luxurious ode to the Indian bride.
Draped in a deep emerald anarkali with shimmering zari work and a layered ghaghra, Tabu embodied the transformation of a shy girl into a radiant bride. The ensemble’s rich silks, intricate embroidery, and Jadau-inspired embellishments reflected the soul of Indian craftsmanship.
“Noor is about light — the glow a bride carries as she steps into a new world,” shared the design house.
✨ Shalini Passi: Cosmic Glamour for Nikita Mhaisalkar
Art collector and style icon Shalini Passi turned muse for Nikita Mhaisalkar’s “Beyond” collection, a mesmerizing exploration of galactic opulence.
Her velvet fishtail gown, illuminated with metallic celestial motifs, shimmered like a constellation under the spotlight. With halter straps mimicking starlight and a sculpted silhouette, the look bridged art, space, and fashion — embodying the designer’s theme of luxury beyond the earthly realm.
🌸 Vaani Kapoor: Sufi Romance for Mahima Mahajan
The runway’s romantic crescendo came when Vaani Kapoor graced the stage for Mahima Mahajan’s “FANAH” Resort 2025 collection.
Wearing a flowing floral lehenga paired with a corset blouse, Vaani exuded divine softness. The pastel-toned ensemble — adorned with hand embroidery and jewel-tone embellishments — was inspired by the Sufi philosophy of fanā, or self-annihilation in divine love.
The result? A poetic harmony of delicacy and strength, a reflection of modern femininity infused with soul.
The showcase also featured striking presentations from Payal Jain, whose Paris Mon Amour collection redefined Indian craftsmanship with French minimalism, and emerging talents who fused sustainability with sophistication.
Day 3 at Lakmé Fashion Week 2025 wasn’t just a parade of outfits — it was a testament to the creative heartbeat of Indian fashion, where heritage meets modernity, and every garment tells a story.
