After a decade of planning, and five years of waiting for official trademark registration, Delhi Fashion Club (DFC) has successfully launched DFC Delhi Fashion Week 2025 — Season 1. The long-awaited debut took place at the historic YMCA Tourist Hotel in Connaught Place, marking a milestone in India’s fashion calendar.

The event was organised in collaboration with VOY Media & Events and backed by major institutions: Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and NIFT Foundation for Design Innovation (NFDI), under the Ministry of Textiles. Additionally, the support of Meghalaya Tourism underscored the rising importance of Northeast India in the national creative and textile ecosystem.

A Celebration of Culture, Sustainability & Women’s Empowerment

Titled under the theme “Naari Shakti: Weaving Viksit Bharat”, the show spotlighted a tapestry of India’s cultural heritage, handloom tradition, sustainable fashion, and women-led creativity. Designers, artisans, weavers, and cultural representatives from across India came together to present an inspiring blend of tradition and modernity.

The event’s artistic direction was led by Harshit Dhingaun — founder & chairman of DFC and a prominent fashion personality. Known on social media as THEVOY, Harshit has long envisioned a platform that democratizes fashion, giving rising designers, models and artisans visibility and opportunities at accessible costs.

Show Highlights: Handloom, Northeast Weaves, Khadi & More

    • The runway featured the FDDI Naari Shakti Collection, showcasing eco-conscious designs and celebrating women’s inclusivity across age groups.

    • The Viksit Bharat Sutra Show highlighted khadi and traditional handloom textiles, blending heritage fabrics with contemporary design sensibilities.

    • A standout segment was the International Reinvent Northeast Showcase: designers from Meghalaya and Bodoland presented Eri-silk, Mulberry-silk and native weaves — celebrating tribal textile heritage with modern runway flair.

    • The Grand Finale, curated by NFDI’s Bhasha Bharat initiative, spotlighted Bhagalpur silk sarees, with showstopper Archana Niranjan (Mrs Universe Oceania 2025) gracing the ramp.

    Beyond the Runway

Alongside the fashion shows, DFW 2025 also inaugurated the first edition of the Delhi Fashion Summit — a forum for conversation around sustainable fashion, handloom entrepreneurship, women empowerment, and tribal weaving communities.

Leaders, artisans and entrepreneurs shared stories of livelihood transformation, often attributing improved rural incomes and renewed respect for handicrafts to such platforms. For many, the event symbolized hope for equal opportunity in the fashion economy.
