Renowned Ayurvedic physician, Panchakarma specialist, and expert Nadi (pulse) diagnostician, Dr. Yogesh Prafulla Duddalwar, M.D. (Ayurveda – Medicine), has been honoured with the prestigious Maharashtra Business Icon Health Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to healthcare services over the past 13 years. His work has played a significant role in strengthening the presence of authentic Ayurveda in modern healthcare.
Dr. Duddalwar is the Founder and Director of Shree Vishwashiv Ayurvediya Super Speciality Hospital, Panchakarma and Research Centre, Yavatmal, a leading institution known for advanced Ayurvedic treatment, Panchakarma therapies, and clinical research.
Strong Academic Foundation and Classical Training
Dr. Duddalwar completed his school education (10th–12th) in Darwha, Yavatmal district, followed by a B.A.M.S. degree under the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. He later earned his M.D. in Ayurveda (Medicine) from Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Sanstha’s Ayurveda College, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
During his postgraduate studies, he received in-depth Ayurvedic training under eminent physicians Vaidya Khardikar Sir and Madam. While pursuing his M.D., he developed “Balsanjeevani,” an Ayurvedic formulation for malnutrition, successfully treating 30 severely malnourished children. For this remarkable public health contribution, he was honoured by the Government of Maharashtra, receiving an award from the then Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat.
Following his M.D., Dr. Duddalwar pursued advanced classical training under Rajvaidya Shri Sameer Jamdagni in Pune, adhering to the traditional Guru–Shishya parampara. He further gained hands-on expertise in Agnikarma and Viddhakarma from Dr. R. B. Gogate, Panchakarma training from Vaidya P. T. Joshi (Dhule), and Ayurvedic medicine formulation knowledge from Vaidya P. Y. Khadiwale. He also completed P.G.F.C.C.P. (Panchakarma specialization) from Tilak Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Pune, and earned a D.Y.A. degree from Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth.
Establishing a Centre of Ayurvedic Excellence
In 2013, Dr. Duddalwar established his first Ayurvedic hospital in Darwha, and also served as a Medical Officer at the Sub-District Hospital for 2.5 years. In March 2015, he founded Shree Vishwashiv Ayurvediya Super Speciality Hospital, Panchakarma and Research Centre in Yavatmal, which has since become a trusted destination for patients seeking holistic and evidence-based Ayurvedic care.
His wife, Dr. Anvi Yogesh Duddalwar, Ayurvedacharya, serves as Co-Director of the hospital and is widely respected as an expert gynecologist, Panchakarma specialist, and aesthetic physician, contributing significantly to the institution’s multidisciplinary approach.
Clinical Expertise and Social Commitment
Dr. Duddalwar is widely known for accurate diagnosis through Nadi Pariksha and Darshan Pariksha. He specializes in the treatment of spinal and neurological disorders, skin diseases, severe Vata disorders, liver, digestive and kidney ailments, and diabetes. His research-based treatments have also shown effective results in respiratory and infectious diseases such as Dengue, COVID-19, and Chikungunya.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Duddalwar treated over 1,800 patients using pure Ayurvedic medicines, including several ICU-admitted patients, saving numerous lives. He also distributed free Ayurvedic medicines to the police force and the general public in Yavatmal, earning recognition as a “COVID Warrior.”
Beyond clinical practice, he conducts free health check-ups and medicine distribution at Nilona Old Age Home, reflecting his strong commitment to community welfare.
Academic Leadership and Professional Roles
Dr. Duddalwar actively contributes to Ayurvedic education by mentoring graduate and postgraduate students through the Guru–Shishya tradition at his hospital. He is the Founder of Prabhuswami Multi-Purpose Organization, dedicated to the promotion of Ayurveda.
He has served as an Honorary Associate Professor for the past 10 years at Dr. M.A.M. Ayurveda College, Yavatmal, and as an Honorary Postgraduate Guide for the past 5 years at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. His leadership roles also include former District In-Charge of Ayurveda Vyaspith, Yavatmal, former Secretary of Arya Vaishya Medicos Association, Secretary of the National Integrated Medical Association – Ayurveda Forum, Yavatmal, former Rotary International Club member, and Honorary Physician at Laxmanrao Kalaspurkar Ayurveda Hospital.

Today, Shree Vishwashiv Ayurvediya Super Speciality Hospital operates clinical branches in Yavatmal and Nagpur, continuing its mission of delivering authentic, research-driven Ayurvedic healthcare.
