The recently concluded Wisdom: The Design Era – Fashion Week in Noida proved to be more than a traditional runway show — it emerged as a platform where the future of fashion and allied creative disciplines converged in a vibrant celebration of student talent and multidisciplinary design expression. Hosted by Wisdom College for Creativity & Design, the event spotlighted cutting‑edge work by emerging designers across fields including fashion, interior design, graphic arts, and even data science.

Held at Golden Dreams in Sector‑51, Noida, the showcase attracted students, industry mentors, and design enthusiasts with its blend of artistic thought, cultural inspiration, and professional insight.

Runway and Design Narrative: Students Take the Lead

At the heart of the event were the original fashion collections created and presented by students. These collections drew inspiration from diverse Indian cities such as Kolkata, Chennai, Ghaziabad and Lucknow, highlighting not only technical skill but also strong storytelling through materials, silhouettes and aesthetic influences.

Under the direction of seasoned Show Directors Sham Khan and Khizar Hussain, the runway experience was cultivated to mirror real‑world fashion industry standards, providing student designers with a professional platform to display their work and creativity.

The event also featured special presentations by established designers — including Kingshuk Bhaduri, Prince Lahot, Sangeeta Kumari, Ashfaque Ahmad and Gagan Kumar — who brought additional perspectives and inspiration to the young talent pool.

Beyond Fashion: A Multidisciplinary Creative Showcase

While fashion remained the central focus, Wisdom: The Design Era emphasized that creativity extends beyond garments. The event celebrated excellence in related disciplines such as Interior Design, Graphic Design, and even Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, reflecting an understanding that future creative careers often cross traditional boundaries between art, design and technology.

This multidisciplinary approach highlighted how design thinking can be applied across industries — encouraging students to embrace innovation not just in fashion, but in visual communication, spatial design and digital applications as well.

    Leadership, Mentorship and Industry Exposure

The presence of industry professionals and mentors elevated the educational impact of the event. Organisers, led by Mrs. Puja Agarwal and overseen by Dr. Alam Sageer, ensured that the week‑long showcase ran smoothly, providing participants with meaningful feedback and exposure to real‑world design standards.

In addition to runway presentations, interactions with guest designers offered students networking opportunities and insights into creative careers — bridging the gap between academic training and professional expectations.

Vision for the Future: Where Creativity Meets Profession

In statements shared during the event, organisers stressed that fashion and design are not just outward expressions of style, but vehicles for ideas, identity and cultural narrative — sentiments that reflect broader trends in design education where self‑expression, innovation and technology intersect.

As the fashion and creative sectors continue to evolve — including the rise of digital fashion innovation and design thinking as strategic skills — platforms like Wisdom: The Design Era are seen as crucial in nurturing the next generation of designers and innovators.
