Determination, courage, and an unbreakable will to secure a better future for her daughters turned Ms. Saroj Raju Gonpat into a symbol of self-reliance and resilience. A single mother of two daughters, Saroj’s journey from hardship to entrepreneurship is a powerful inspiration for countless women.
Originally from Kalina, Santacruz, Mumbai, Saroj Gonpat is the mother of two daughters, aged 22 and 20. In 2008, during a difficult phase of her life, she came to know about an institution named WYCA. Despite facing opposition at home and lacking formal support, she made a firm decision—to build a secure future for herself and her daughters.
Driven by inner determination, she gathered information about the institution and joined its classes. There, she received immense guidance and encouragement from Nisha Madam, who patiently taught her skills and became her first guru. Saroj credits this support as the foundation of her professional life.
In 2012, life took a challenging turn when Saroj separated from her in-laws and moved to her mother’s home with her two daughters. Refusing to give up, she began accepting home-based beauty parlour orders, applying the skills she had learned. With dedication, customer care, and consistent hard work, her confidence and clientele steadily grew.
Her perseverance bore fruit in 2015, when she fulfilled her long-cherished dream by opening her own beauty parlour named “S.S. Dream Parlour.” The name symbolized her biggest dream—to own and run an independent parlour. What began as a small effort soon became the backbone of her family’s financial stability. 
Through her parlour business, Saroj successfully completed the education of both her daughters and achieved another major milestone—owning her own house in Mumbai, a dream many struggle to realize.
Today, Saroj Gonpat has moved a step further in giving back to society. She works as a teacher at Jan Shikshan Trust (Janshikshan Sanstha), where she trains and empowers other women with skills, helping them become independent just as she once aspired to be.
Expressing gratitude, she acknowledges everyone who supported her throughout her journey and credits her success to hard work, patience, and never giving up, even in the toughest times.
Saroj Raju Gonpat’s journey stands as a shining example of women empowerment, proving that even in the face of adversity, dreams can be rebuilt—and achieved—with courage and commitment.
Selected for Maharashtra’s Prestigious Awards
Recognizing her dedication and achievements, she has been selected for the prestigious “Maharashtra Business Icon 2025 / Maharashtra Style Icon 2025 / Maharashtra Fashion Icon 2025” awards.
This honour is being presented by Reseal.in and India Fashion Icon Magazine, celebrating Maharashtra’s emerging entrepreneurs and artists.
The selection marks a proud moment not only for her, but also for the entire region.
