In the vibrant food culture of Badlapur, two sisters—Shweta Eknath Firake and Shruti Eknath Firake—have created a unique identity with their venture, The Food Garage. What began as casual conversations during their education later transformed into a dream project rooted in passion, resilience, and a shared love for food.
Today, The Food Garage stands as a symbol of dedication, creativity, and unwavering belief—serving flavorful dishes with a touch of innovation and heartfelt hospitality.
A Journey Built on Dreams, Passion & Sisterhood
Shweta pursued Hotel Management, while Shruti completed her studies in Agriculture. Despite choosing different fields, the two sisters always shared one dream:
“Let’s create something together.”
Life continued with jobs, responsibilities, marriages, and family duties. But the dream stayed alive.
A turning point came in 2015, after they lost their father. While supporting their mother and balancing family life, a small spark ignited when their sister encouraged them to start a business.
And with courage and unanimous family support, the sisters took their first step—
a small ice cream parlour.
Although the parlour ran well, their hearts longed for something bigger.
One day, they noticed a nearby shop space—and instantly felt a connection. Their old discussions came alive again, and they knew they had found the base for their dream.
After detailed surveys, brainstorming, planning, and revising ideas multiple times, their dream slowly began taking shape.
Soon after, a bigger space beside their parlour became available, and with immense effort, dedication, and creativity, the sisters built:
The Food Garage — A Dream Turned Into Reality
Launched on 15 August 2016, The Food Garage opened its doors with a unique garage-themed ambiance and a menu full of innovative dishes crafted from Shruti’s passion for cooking and Shweta’s vast experience in multiple cuisines.
Their goal was simple:
✔ Serve delicious food
✔ Maintain freshness & hygiene
✔ Keep prices affordable
✔ Create memorable experiences for customers
This approach quickly attracted customers, and word-of-mouth helped The Food Garage grow consistently.
To sustain in the highly competitive food industry, Shweta and Shruti focused on:

• Friendly customer interaction
• Clean & comfortable ambiance
• Consistent taste and quality
They regularly update their menu, introduce new cuisines, and even offer healthy diet meals for today’s fitness-conscious customers.
Like every business, The Food Garage also faced a major setback during the 2020 pandemic.
• The shop remained closed
• Stock spoiled within days
• Financial losses piled up
Yet, the sisters didn’t give up.
With courage, patience, and determination, they rebuilt everything—supporting their staff, caring for their team like family, and slowly bringing the business back on track.
Their resilience is a true inspiration.
A good staff is a blessing, and The Food Garage is enriched with loyal team members who have stood with them throughout their journey.
