As the festive season approaches, designer Dhruv Vaish brings a fresh perspective to menswear with his latest collection, City Reflections. Known for his understated sophistication and attention to craft, Vaish’s new edit captures the essence of urban life—its geometry, movement, and rhythm—through luxurious fabrics and refined silhouettes.
Set to be showcased in Kolkata at 85 Lansdowne, the collection offers a modern yet rooted interpretation of festive dressing for men.

“City Reflections is crafted using natural fabrics like silk matka, herringbone cotton silk, and silk twill,” shares Dhruv. “We’ve incorporated abstract hand embroidery, done using silk threads and metallic beads, giving each piece a tactile depth.”
The palette transitions seamlessly from morning cream and ochre to evening blue and night black, mirroring the changing moods of a cityscape through the day. From short kurtas and bandhgalas to kurta-bundi sets, the silhouettes balance innovation with simplicity, offering effortless style for festive gatherings.
💭 The Inspiration
“This collection draws inspiration from the unnoticed beauty of our everyday urban surroundings,” explains Dhruv. “The lines, forms, and patterns we see daily but rarely pause to admire have been reimagined as motifs, textures, and cuts. The idea was to bring the poetry of the city into the language of clothing—blending modern urban sensibilities with traditional Indian craftsmanship.”

While Vaish’s earlier collections have always championed fine tailoring, City Reflections takes that vision further by exploring new surface textures and embroidery techniques. “We’ve mixed screen prints with hand embroidery, introduced fresh colours, and reworked classic cuts,” he adds. “The result is clothing that feels contemporary yet timeless, and most importantly, comfortable.”
