Rajdeep Ranawat’s ‘Orvieto’ Brings Italian Ceramics to Couture

Inspired by Tuscan light and hand-painted pottery, the designer’s new resort wear edit is a love letter to Mediterranean artistry and effortless individuality.

For Rajdeep Ranawat, inspiration often begins with art — and this time, it came from the sun-drenched facades and artisanal tiles of the Italian village Orvieto. His new Spring/Summer 2026 resort wear collection, aptly titled Orvieto, captures the Mediterranean joie de vivre through luminous colours, painterly prints, and fluid silhouettes designed for the global traveller.

I reinterpreted the local rustic pottery motifs of this Italian village — lemons, pomegranates, chillies, garlic, and floral medallions — into painterly digital artworks and placement prints,” says Rajdeep. Each ensemble channels the artisanal soul of Italian ceramics, blending the intricate geometry of the Duomo’s façade with the vibrancy of hand-painted tiles. The result? Couture that feels both artful and wearable.

A Fresco of Fashion: The Orvieto Aesthetic

Unlike his earlier work that explored Eastern embroidery and ornate motifs, Orvieto celebrates a lighter, sun-kissed narrative. It’s a refreshing shift — defined by modern geometry, colour blocking, and ceramic-inspired detailing. The palette echoes the Tuscan countryside — think sunlit yellows, azure blues, terracotta reds, and ivory whites.

Resort wear in 2026 is about effortless individuality,” Rajdeep shares. “We’re seeing a strong return to artisanal textures, eco-conscious materials, and mood-driven dressing that feels spontaneous yet curated.

Expect modular separates, hand-drawn prints, statement belts, versatile sarongs, and engineered kaftans that move seamlessly from beach to brunch, embodying the new wave of easy luxe.

Conscious Sophistication: The New Resort Code

For Rajdeep, resort wear has evolved from comfort clothing to conscious sophistication. The modern traveller, he notes, seeks pieces that are fluid yet glamorous — featherlight silks, draped dresses, scarves that double as tops, and wrap skirts designed for transformation.

The narrative now is refined, responsible, and radiant,” he explains. “Every piece should feel luxurious without being loud.

    His resort must-haves include:

    • A fluid kaftan in a statement print

    • A reversible co-ord set for versatility

    • A breezy silk shirt and wrap skirt

    • Bold belts and artisanal earrings

    • A silk scarf — that timeless travel essential

Together, they form a capsule that celebrates freedom, craftsmanship, and contemporary glamour.
