The life story of Shameem Bano Afzal Husain, founder of SM Beauty Parlour & Academy, Malegaon, is a shining example of how a woman with limited resources can create a powerful identity and transform the lives of thousands.
A Humble Beginning in 2010
Shameem began her journey on 2 February 2010 at a time when her financial condition was extremely modest. She dreamed of starting a beauty parlour but could not afford a high-end setup. With just ₹10,000, she converted a single room of her home into a small parlour.
There was only one chair, minimal equipment, and boundless hope. Working alone for 8–10 hours every day, she managed every task herself—without any assistant. To improve her skills, she regularly attended seminars, workshops, and government training programs related to beauty services.
Her dedication soon began to show results, and Alhamdulillah, she started receiving a positive response from clients even from her home setup.
Turning Struggle into Strength 
From 2012 onward, Shameem took a step beyond personal growth—she began teaching beauty skills to girls. Her mission was clear: to make other women independent. Over the years, she has trained thousands of students, many of whom now run their own parlours or work professionally in the beauty industry.
Her classes became a platform for empowerment, especially for girls who wanted to stand on their own feet but lacked direction.
A New Chapter in 2018
After years of hard work and sacrifices, her financial condition gradually improved. In 2018, Shameem took a bold step and opened her own full-fledged centre at Anjuman Chowk, the main market of Malegaon. Along with the parlour, she continued her academy with greater strength.
By then, she had already trained around 5,000 to 6,000 girls. She also entered the bridal makeup segment, starting services at just ₹300. Through continuous learning and self-upgradation, her expertise reached such a level that today clients happily pay ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 for her bridal makeup.
At present, she runs an academy with 25 students in every batch, shaping the next generation of beauty professionals.
Gratitude and Support
Shameem credits her success to one strong pillar—her husband.
“Whatever I am today is because of his support. Without him, I would not have reached this far,” she says emotionally.
