Recognizing this transformation ahead of time, Gayatri Sham Borse turned fashion into a tool for women’s empowerment.
Gayatri Borse is the Director of GSFB (Graduation School of Fashion Business) Fashion Designing Institute in Malegaon and brings over a decade of experience in the fashion industry.
A Journey Shaped by Struggle and Determination
Gayatri’s journey in fashion began at a very young age. At just 17, after completing her 10th grade, she enrolled in a Fashion Designing Diploma course in Khopoli. Balancing education while establishing herself in a competitive and creative field was not easy, but her passion for fashion helped her overcome every obstacle.
After completing her education, she took a brief break, yet her connection to fashion remained strong. In 2017, she joined NIDS (National Institute of Designing Studio) in Pune as a faculty member. Her involvement in fashion shows, innovative outfit designs, and the growing enthusiasm among students led to her being entrusted with the responsibility of Branch Manager.
GSFB: A Dedicated Institute for Women
Determined to bring her experience to her hometown, Gayatri Borse established GSFB Fashion Designing Institute in Malegaon. The institute is specially dedicated to girls and women, focusing not only on education but also on building confidence and fostering a positive mindset.
The goal of GSFB is not merely to provide degrees, but to equip students with the skills and confidence required to start their own businesses or establish themselves strongly in the fashion industry.

Local Opportunities for Aspiring Designers
Previously, girls from Malegaon and nearby villages had to travel outside the city to pursue fashion education. With the establishment of GSFB, quality fashion training is now available locally. Several students have completed the Boutique Management Course and started their own boutiques, while others have secured employment at the local level.
From Negativity to Confidence
Gayatri Borse believes that students who enter GSFB with self-doubt leave with renewed confidence and positivity. According to her, while the future may be uncertain, women equipped with skills and inner strength can overcome any challenge.

Though her journey may seem modest, its impact has transformed the lives of hundreds of girls and women. Today, GSFB is not just a fashion institute—it is a platform for new identity, renewed confidence, and brighter futures for women in Malegaon.
Selected for Maharashtra’s Prestigious Awards
Recognizing her dedication and achievements, she has been selected for the prestigious “Maharashtra Business Icon 2025 / Maharashtra Style Icon 2025 / Maharashtra Fashion Icon 2025” awards.
This honour is being presented by Reseal.in and India Fashion Icon Magazine, celebrating Maharashtra’s emerging entrepreneurs and artists.
The selection marks a proud moment not only for her, but also for the entire region.
